COP31 Health Day puts climate-ready health systems on the agenda

COP31 Health Day opens the UN climate conference in Antalya on 9 November, with four high-level panels and a ministerial roundtable, according to the World Health Organization. The programme focuses on how health systems can prepare for climate risks and keep services running when those risks materialise.

From planning to implementation

WHO says its 2025 survey identified a gap between knowledge about climate and health measures and the funding and implementation needed to put them in place. The Antalya programme brings together sessions on digital health, technology, humanitarian aid and financing.

What to watch in Antalya

The roundtable provides a forum for countries to compare how they fund and organise climate preparedness across their health systems. The programme is part of the wider conference, which runs until 20 November. Any specific commitments will depend on what participants announce during the meetings.
